When you are driving the pins out try using a flat punch the same size as the hole you are going through. The sharp point on the one you had may be spreading the pin head out a little. Enjoyed the music also, never had a problem with the rain or the rooster: I don't ever remember you working when it hailed. that may be rough!

Ive made knives for years now, and i have screwed up more times than i can count. Great job on your first mod . It still functions. Fit and finish will come with practice. I love Old Hickory knives.

Great project. Quite an undertaking. I'm still a bit new to knife restoration. I re-profiled a clip point blade with a broken tip to a drop point blade leaving all of the cutting edge this morning. My first. I always learn a lot on every project.

Hey Kevin, If you're not really happy with the way it came out then you should try again and fix it right. I know if I wasn't happy with the way something came out then I'd do it over. The way I think, I'd do the job over until I was proud of it. Other then time, it's not going to cost you anything (well maybe a pin) - Looks great thou - later

Does the punch blade open easier when the big blade is open?

Next time use a thin feeler guage like we used to set points with. That will give you a good tight fit but that 5thousands will let you have a smooth blade operation. I love the mod. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the video, looks like it turned out as planned. That punch was hard like that before so it wasn’t anything you did wrong. It never bothered me as it was less prone to close. Agree on the music, somebody deserves a sticker unless they requested to remain anonymous.
